Palm Tree Village Beach Resort can be reached by road from Dar es Salaam, a trip of just under an hour. This is followed by a short motor boat trip across the 2km stretch of sea to reach the island. Traditional boarding methods and an element of shallow paddling may be required to get to the boat!
There is an airstrip at Bagamoyo town 7km away and you can be met and transferred from here by prior arrangement. |

The hotel has 46 comfortable air-conditioned rooms, each with its own bathroom. All rooms command an ocean view.
With a design inspire by the traditional East African village, the hotel is for the most part naturally built of local materials. The high-rise roofs are covered with the leaves of coconut palms. The leaves, called makuti offer natural insulation.
They keep the indoor temperature comfortable during the summer season, even without the air-conditioning. The unique traditional Zanzibar beds, copied with care to preserve essential outer details, have nevertheless been modified to offer modern comfort.
Guests can enjoy a good night’s sleep, protected from the occasional mosquito by the Zanzibar netting. Actually the gentle breezes coming off the ocean send most mosquitoes on their way. |

Restaurant : There is no need to go far for superb dining. The Palmtree village restaurant offers a menu to satisfy the most discriminatory taste.
The restaurant’s seafood specialties, which include succulent langoustes and giant shrimp, are fresh out of the local waters and prepared by a master chef. |
