Twenty-five spacious bungalows provide luxurious accommodation for all our guests. All bungalows have been designed Maasai style and decorated internally with exquisite furnishings and carvings continuing the Maasai theme. Each bungalow is a private suite with its own balcony offering panoramic views of Lake Miwaleni and the towering escarpment. You may even see one of the species of monkeys, birds or reptiles that live in the region or catch a glimpse of one of the many hippos residing in Lake Miwaleni.
Four of our bungalows are ideal honeymoon suites whilst another four have been designed to comfortably accommodate our guests in wheel chairs. E Unoto Retreat pampers their guests with imported, oversized king and queen beds. The suites also feature relaxing leather armchairs and separate shower and toilet facilities. Additional features include a coffee table that easily converts from backgammon to a checker board, writing table, mosquito nets, telephone with access to reception and other areas of the lodge and bottled water delivered daily with our compliments.

Our open-air restaurant and bar overlook the lake and swimming pool, providing total guests relaxation. Sumptuous international cuisine and a tempting children’s menu is offered daily in the restaurant, whilst butlers will provide drinks and snacks to you as you rest by the pool or in one of the comfortable chairs near the bar. From Arusha, drive through town, past the coffee plantations and Arusha Airport. Keep driving along this road for approximately 45 minutes until you come to the Tarangire/Lake Manyara junction. Turn right and follow this road for about 20 minutes towards the escarpment. Just before you reach the township of Mto wa Mbu you will notice E Unoto Retreat painted on a large wooden sign on the right hand side of the road. Turn right in front of the sign onto a dirt road and follow the black and white stones. Note: After 2kms the signs direct you to the left. You will pass clusters of Maasai huts before the road takes you left through Maasai farmland and along the final part of the track to E Unoto Retreat.

BIRD WATCHING : With more than 350 species of native birds in the area, E Unoto Retreat is the perfect haven for bird watching. Birdlife that has been spotted includes the Ring-necked Pigeon, Laughing Dove, Oxpeckers and Superb Starling. The lodge has telescopes and binoculars for viewing the birds and animals in close proximity and in the distance. Birds can also be sighted on our nature walks and are also plentiful around the lodge.

CANOEING : A morning or afternoon canoe on tranquil Lake Manyara can be arranged for you and your companions.

CYCLING : Complimentary bicycles are available for adults and children staying at E Unoto Retreat. Cycling is a great way to experience the culture and natural wilds in this beautiful environment. You can cycle to the Maasai Boma (30 minutes to 2 hours depending on personal interest – moderate exertion), Maasai Market or small township of Mto wa Mbu (both 2 to 4 hours – strenuous exertion).

FISHING : At early morn or during the evening, enjoy fishing on Lake Miwaleni – the home of the hippos!
