The Serengeti Sopa Lodge is situated to the West of the Seranera and is located in the Nyarboro Hills in a particularly beautiful and quieter area of the park than the heart of the Seronera. Its location means that it is a particularly good site for game viewing from April through to early July when the migration should normally pass around this area. All year round water and the acacia woodland in this area do mean that there should always be game in the vicinity. Thanks to its hillside position the lodge has magnificent views over the Serengeti plains.

Serengeti Sopa Lodge is located in the Nyarboro Hills in the south west of Serengeti National Park in Northern Tanzania at 34°35’E and 2°40’S. The Nyarboro Hills were previously a protected area and Serengeti Sopa Lodge is the only development in this area. The all year round water and acacia woodland of the lower slopes of the hills create an ideal environment for a wide variety of wildlife seen in the immediate vicinity of the lodge. Being sited on the slopes of the hills Serengeti Sopa Lodge enjoys magnificent views over the plains of Tanzania’s largest game park - 14,763 sq kms.

Looking out over the seemingly endless Serengeti plains, this hillside lodge is a tranquil oasis set in over 14,000 sq kms (5,000 sq miles) of National Park. The Serengeti plains are host to a dramatic annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and numerous other species of animals indigenus to the area.

Opened in 1992, the lodge can accommodate 170, each enjoying wall-to-wall carpeting, a private lounge with a mini bar, a bedroom with two queen size beds and ample room for a third, an en-suite bathroom with shaver sockets and a hair dryer, and a private verandah which offers stunning views over the plains.

Each suite is fully carpeted and contains two queen sized beds with deep sprung mattresses to ensure a comfortable nights rest. The fully tiled bathrooms are equipped to a high standard with bath, shower, W.C., bidet, wash hand basin, hair drier and shaver socket.
