| The lodge has direct-dial satelite telephone facilities as well as satellite television and wildlife-video-film options. A number of lodge electrical generating systems provide 240volts, 50 cycles 24 hours a day. Our water supply comes from nearby springs but guests are advised not to drink from the taps. Instead, complimentary bottled mineral water is provided in the mini bars while further stocks are available for sale in the main bar. We welcome kids of all ages and can provide both special meals at convenient times and baby sitters on request. The Guest Shop stocks a wide selection of curios, gift items, clothing, film, sweets, postcards, personal requisites and toiletries. The unique swimming pool which is located at the edge of a rocky gorge has its own bar and snack kitchen and offers a refreshing interlude between game drives. We can supply diesel and can carry out most minor repairs.
Electricity : The lodge has a number of generators which provide electric current to the lodge. The current is 240volts 50 cycles.
Water : Water is obtained for lodge usage from two bore holes situated close to the lodge. Guests are advised not to drink the water from the tap. Bottled water is provided in each suite and additional supplies are available for sale in the lodge.
Children : Sopa Lodges welcome children to all their properties and can arrange for special childrens meals of a type and at a time most suitable to the individual. Baby sitters can be arranged on request.
Guest Shop : In the main lobby is a guest shop stocking a wide selection of curios, gift items, safari clothing, film and a variety of guest requisites.
Clothes : For most of the year only the lightest of safari clothes will be required, although during the rainy seasons or in the early
mornings and evenings a light sweater may be required. The main lodge areas of cocktail bar and restaurant have an atmosphere which may encourage guests to wear something special for the evening. Swimwear and sunbathing clothes are a must for relaxing around the pool.
Swimming Pool : Tarangire Sopa Lodge has a large imaginatively designed pool with an island, bar and barbecue area. Most guests will be unable to resist a cooling dip in the afternoon before a game drive.
The park is host to a number of rarely seen species of wildlife including eleand, oryx, kudu and gerenuk. Another speciality are tree climbing pythons and some 3,500 resident elephants. Tarangire also has the highest number of recorded bird species for any habitat in the world.
Conferences : A 3000 sq ft conference facility is available for conferences, meetings, presentations, private lunches or dinners and cocktail parties. Situated just off the main lobby it looks on to the many baobab trees which are a feature of the lodge site.
