7 Ways To Explore Tanzania Differently
We often hear people say, “Once that moment is gone, it will never come back”. This is why when we travel to any place, we are so excited, aware subconsciously that this moment once lived will be gone forever.
Is Africa on your bucket list destination this year? If you are planning to explore Tanzania, there is some great news for you. Visitors often say that is this place is not a destination, rather an experience. Keeping all the clichéd tips aside, we are delighted to share with you our idea of traveling to Tanzania differently. In our earlier post, we shared some essential tips that you need to know before coming here.
So what else?
Here are some words of wisdom to make most of your holiday experience in Tanzania.

Dinning amid the wild; a unique experience
1. Be curious
Our very first advice to you is to get excited. You may often ask, “Where am I going to stay? Is there a swimming pool with a view? What animals can I get to see from my tent.” When you book your holiday with a reliable tour operator, you will have the access to information on accommodation options and can choose places that best suit your taste. If you are a first time traveler to Tanzania, you may want to familiarize with various destinations. Read articles and information pieces, watch photos and videos. If you are traveling with a family or as a couple, you may have specific questions. Feel free to discuss and share with your travel agency or someone who has explored visited Tanzania earlier.
2. Do not rush
Tanzanians have embraced the word ‘Pole Pole’ (slowly, slowly) and if you are on a holiday this applies to you as well. If you have booked a short holiday, do not be in a rush to tick off that destination off your bucket list. Instead indulge in every moment. Follow the clock of nature and take one day as it comes. Some experiences are always worth the wait; a hungry lion’s hunt, a good time for diving, the cheetah sneaking under the tree or a strenuous climb on the mountain. Soak it all in as if it was your first and last time to experience this.

3. Let Go Fears
Sleep under the canvas. Climb that highest peak. Go for a walking safari. Dive into the ocean. Do not give second thought to something you have always wanted to do. Travel without any apprehensions. Most visitors would recommend Tanzania for its warm hospitality and there are people who will make you feel like coming home. You may be exhausted after an exhilarating hike or fear the lion close to your tent. There will always be a warm smile that will be there to help you let loose and embrace this special moment.
4. Feel Tanzania
While it is almost essential to have your camera and every other electronic device handy, we would advise you to travel with minimal distractions. Did you know that there is limited power supply in wildlife destinations and most camp managers will encourage you to experience the greatness of nature and cut off yourself from routine? Observe, feel, explore, express and feel every moment out there. Tanzania is not a destination it is an experience. Be it a beach holiday or a remote wildlife destination, you will enjoy your holiday when you truly indulge in every moment.

5. Interact with your safari guide
We strongly encourage you to keep the curiosity alive even while exploring Tanzania. Your safari guide is not only there to take you around. He/ she has thorough knowledge and is well trained to answer most of your questions. Do not just drive around parks to get sight of all animals. If you are inquisitive, speak to your guide and you may be surprised to know the wealth of understanding they have about the wild. Talking to your safari guide is also one great way to full enjoy a safari experience. You may wonder why is there a lonely elephant in the wild? Ask your guide and you will be amused to know the reason.
6. Be Patient
While wildlife encounters are frequent in Tanzania, sometimes you may have to long wait to savour the real action. Do not panic if there is an elephant around your tent or feel restless if the lion has been napping for hours to get a good sight. National parks, conservation areas and game reserves in Tanzania are big and have many other attractions that seek your attention. You may be fortunate to greet a waking lion in the next few minutes or meet another one just a few miles away. Likewise if you are climbing a mountain or diving in the ocean, patience pays off and rewards you greatly in nature bound destinations.

Why only drive when you can also walk in the wild
7. Not only game drives
As popularly known, most travelers visit Tanzania for its unique driving safaris. While this activity has its own charm, there are a lot more excursions that you may love to be venture. Explore the jungles of Gombe Stream National Park on foot, meet the tribals of Eyasi; the last hunter and gatherers, swim with the whale sharks or go zip lining in Mto Wa Mbu. These local experiences are a real fascination and give you a broader and vivid experience of traveling around Tanzania.
