Beach Therapy by the Swahili Coast
Wallace J. Nichols, a marine biologist believes that we all have a “blue mind” with “a mildly meditative state characterized by calm, peacefulness, unity, and a sense of general happiness and satisfaction with life in the moment — that’s triggered when we’re in or near water”.
In a country surrounded by beautiful islands, shorelines and beaches, there is no other good excuse to make time for yourself and feel revitalized. We love to put it this way, how about some beach therapy by the Swahili Coast to heal and transform yourself? While planning a holiday to Tanzania, don’t forget to add a beach escape and deeply enjoy our three recommended activities!
Beach Strolls
Walking on the beach is therapeutic and healing. Connect to the soothing waves, walk bare feet and be surrounded by minimal distraction. Spend time on the pristine beaches during the weekends and witness a positive transformation over time. Our favorite beaches are the Nungwi and the private Gabi beach in Zanzibar.
Yoga on the Beach
Exercises, especially yoga on the beach is gaining popularity as many modern yogis now hold sessions on the beach. Tanzania is a hot spot for several tutors and beach yoga is a growing part of tourism. Why not take advantage of the benevolent beaches and head with the yoga mat with your partner or friends? Explore yoga opportunities in Mafia and Pemba island or simply carry your mat and enjoy a breath of fresh air and the scent of the ocean.
Journal Entry
With all the positive thoughts running through your mind and gushing in your veins, why not store them as happy memories in your diary? Perhaps you can carry a little notebook and pen all the greatness of life that you feel that moment. Over a period of time you will have a collection some of the best moments that transformed your life, while soaking in some great vibes from the beach. A happening beach like Paje with ite surfers of the Nakupenda beach makes for the perfect spot to pen down your emotions in your personal diary.
