If you are traveling in Tanzania from October through February be prepared for some real sweat and thrill. Here are some things accessories you need to carry to beat the heat while spending your days under the African Sun.
Sun Screen: Feels good to tan all day long? Carry a sunscreen as the scorching heat may ultimately damage your skin. Since the temperatures are above 35 degrees, carry a tan lotion of a higher SPF value. Apply twice a day, even when it is cloudy as the weather is likely to change frequently especially at the beach.
Swim Gear: While rental options available with water sports and adventure companies, why pay that little extra when you already have your swim gear. Carry your light gear such as goggles, snorkel, eye mask, nose clips and swimming caps. If you here for a long safari do not forget your swimsuit!
Water bottles: Buy high quality bottles if you are going for hiking. The ordinary plastic ones are sensitive to heat and it is advisable to discard packaged drinking bottles right after use. Pack vibrant colored bottles for kids to drink water frequently. The kind of bottles may also differ depending on your trip; hiking, camping, walking safari or a day at the beach etc.
Footwear: If your summer holidays are more focused on the beach side, flip flops work the best! You may carry hiking or trail running shoes as an option as one of the favored activities during summer is hiking/ nature walks.
Clothing: Experiencing a different weather can make packing confusing. Always keep in mind, you will need to get light clothes which can also be bought here at reasonable rates; Khanga (light cotton cloth made locally) dresses, wrap arounds and hats. Don’t forget your pair of sunglasses.
Travel Bags: Carry a large size bag preferably cotton or water proof material for the beach. back bags instead which have enough room for your essential accessories are good for city walks and safari drives.
