Arumeru River Lodge Located just 35 minutes from Kilimanjaro Airport our Lodge is the ideal base for your Safari. For those who are planning to climb Kilimanjaro the Lodge is a perfect starting point as well. We’ll store your luggage while you are climbing and wait for you with a cold beer, a hot shower, laundry service, and maybe a massage when you return.

Dreamlike Tropical Gardens Our garden is home to many Dikdiks, the smallest antelopes in Africa. These cute little animals can be observed at close range. Enjoy your first “wildlife encounter” by just walking in our tropical garden.

Rooms
Our 21 spacious garden rooms (25 sqm) are nested in a tropical park that is famous for its botanical specimens. All rooms are tastefully decorated and permanently kept in mint condition. From your private terrace you can watch small Dik Dik Antelopes roaming freely between the garden chalets.

The 6 Junior-Suites (45 sqm) have luxurious Terrazzo floors & bathrooms that create a light-flooded ambiance. The decoration is completed with Zanzibar-style tables and dhow wood furniture that express African Elegance. All Junior Suites have a second private verandah.

Meru Cottage is a comfortable option for families with children or couples that travel together. The cottage has a very private location within our topical park. It spreads out over two floors. From the central living room with open fireplace two en-suite bedrooms can be reached: one in the basement one on the 1st floor.

Activities
The lodge offers a variety of carefully selected half-day guided excursions in our neighborhood. Our Activities share the following concept:

Activities can be booked on short-notice at the Lodge Reception (lead time 15 – 30 minutes).
They are associated with a little bit of physical exercise: from mild to moderate according to your individual liking – perfect after a long flight.
All Activities provide new insights into Tanzania that complement your Safari experience.
