In the evening, guests gather around the campfire for sundowners before dining. The camp works closely with the local Masai community who often provide dances and talks on Masai life, their cultures, traditions and ceremonies. Guest enjoy the opportunity to interact with the Masai, learning more about their traditional lifestyle.
There are few places in the world so startlingly beautiful as the Ngorongoro Crater found on our RATPANAT NGORONGORO SAFARI CAMP with unspoilt views over the largest and most perfectly collapsed volcanic caldera in the world. About a microcosm of African habitats, meadows, marshes, rivers, lakes and forests … the ground described as the “Noah’s Ark” extends: hundreds of species live together in harmony in an environment of outstanding natural beauty and one of the areas animal watching most precious of Africa, Ngorongoro caldera.
The relative simplicity of the exterior of the 11 stores can not guess the brand new interior that is in them. There are no fences or boundaries in the camp: the stores are mounted facing the panoramic view of the crater, while wildlife can walk through the camp day and night. The Ratpanat Ngorongoro Safari Camp is a camp that proclaims “fancy”, but many clever details ensure total comfort and a spontaneous and natural style.
A large amphitheater of the caldera viewed from the camp and fascinated by the constantly changing patterns of light and shadow. Situated as it is on the lip of one of the most dramatic natural wonders of the world, this structure so fantastic camp seems entirely appropriate.
The camp makes one feel in an oasis of civilization and comfort in the middle of the jungle. The decorative touches are achieved around, seeds and flowers decorate the shops and dining area.
The Ratpanat camps, yet their style, are designed to harmonize perfectly with the colors around the jungle and not aggressively emphasize the natural beauty that always surrounds them.
Once quite spacious and all the amenities of a good hotel private shops is unmistakably modern experience that most resembles the first expeditions of hunters and adventurers exploring an unknown Africa pioneers. A sense of unpretentious authenticity is palpable, with huge double beds handmade duvets covers flawlessly to protect against cold nights white cotton. Great bathroom mounted on the back, with showers that are airborne cubes. The Ratpanat team rushes to offer guests all the comforts of the safaris of yesteryear: a fire, a powerful symbol of life in the African bush, they shoot up against the pink sunset, is palpable sign that long safari day is over and it’s time to relax, hot water carefully transported to each store for a well deserved shower!, and finally, a formal dinner, mounted long table in great detail, crystal, china and illuminated in the light of candles and as seasoned with stories of safari.
The camp is even more spectacular at night by dozens of candles that illuminate it and the clink of ice to accompany a drink while the sun sets or just enjoying the beautiful African skies at dusk around the campfire.
