Sanctuary Saadani River Lodge is our new river retreat, hidden within the trees bordering the Wami River. The views from the lodge allow guests to watch the local wildlife while enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The 17 stilted suites of Sanctuary Saadani River Lodge are the epitome of ‘luxury, naturally’, built for rest and relaxation on the southern shore of the Wami River close to the Saadani National Park. The guest tree houses blend into the natural scenery on their stilts with traditional thatched roofs. In addition, for the ultimate secluded escape, River Lodge’s Wami Suite is a private villa with its own infinity pool, two bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room and dining room. The lodge offers guests a range of activities including game drives and river excursions. The in-house spa provides indulgent massages to enjoy between activities.

SUITES

The 17 stilted suites are built from Pinewood, Mtondoro hardwood and Teak wood and are covered in traditional thatching. With en-suite bathrooms over looking the river and private balconies, our guests are never far away from nature. Four of the suites also feature air-conditioning.

WAMI SUITE

For the ultimate secluded escape, River Lodge’s Wami Suite is a private villa with its own infinity pool, two bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room and dining room. Hidden within the lush jungle, this villa is perfect for our guests who wish for ultimate relaxation and an intimate environment.

LIGHT, HEALTHY MEALS

The main lounge and dining area is housed under a large thatched sala with great views over the river and surrounds. Our open air kitchen is positioned at the heart of the lodge and guests can indulge themselves with mouth watering meals around the clock.

Our breakfast spread includes a full English menu to continental and fruit choices. Lunch is la carte allowing guests to choose their three course meal. An afternoon tea selection of handmade sweet cakes and savoury bites will be offered just before departing for the late afternoon activities. In the evening, guests are served a three course plated dinner in the main area, or served outside on the deck under the stars.
