The beach at Smiles Beach Hotel is unique. As one of the original hotels in Nungwi, our remarkable location is a huge asset to us, and we are very proud of it. Uninterrupted, our own raised beach extends into the ocean. At low tide you have the rest of the Nungwi’s white sands, and at high tide you have the perfect platform for swimming or simply lounging next to the stunning azure waters. There are loungers, hammocks and sea wall beds for sunbathing and coconut thatch umbrellas for a little shade. We also employ genuine Massai Guards, to keep any disturbances or hustle to a minimum and allow you to relax in peace.

Our nice little Smiles Beach Hotel is situated on a huge 8.700 m² sized property, but has only 16 rooms! So every each and one of our guests has enough space to enjoy a peaceful holiday stay with us:

The Garden in Smiles Beach Hotel

From your room, our tropical Gardens are all that separate you from the white sands and Indian Ocean. The evergreen palms, with our flowers instilling bright pink, red and orange colors, provide not only a handsome environment but an important spot of shade if necessary. The jasmine at night provides an artlessly beautiful scent and makes the garden a unspoiled area for spotting shooting stars and admiring the clear night sky from a lounger or hammock.

The Oceanside Restaurant of Smiles Beach Hotel

With the incredible produce available our Oceanside restaurant uses only fresh local ingredients. We use the Indian Ocean and the equatorial sunshine to our advantage sourcing you the local fresh ingredients daily. Serving a variety of well put together food with a touch of Zanzibar heritage and authenticity. Local spices, fresh coconuts, limes, chillies and ginger each add a little something very special to our fresh dishes and sea food. Please note that we do not sell Alcohol in the hotel, but our guests are free to bring their own beer or wine during their meals.

The Massage Banda in Smiles Beach Hotel

Our massage banda (thatch house), is set on the white sands yet sunk and secluded into the garden. It is there to really remove any of those tough to remove knots in your shoulders or maybe it’s just what you fancy. With a range of massage options and local products such as oils available our staff will tailor it all to your needs. Or what about a nice henna tattoo?
